filter cleaner?

How do you guys clean your filters, specifically the multi-coated ones? I found a place online that sells cleaner specially made for multi-coated filters but am wondering if it is necessary.
What is the best way to clean them without spreading the fingerprint or whatever it may be that is on them. I know it would be best to not let them get dirty but in reality, that won't happen.

Go to you neighborhood optician, and get whatever he has for
cleaning coated eyeglasses.

I like white, cotton, darkroom gloves. I buy a bag of them, and distribute them among my camera bags. Throw them away when they get dirty. Unless there is really some gunk on the filter, I just use a huff of breath. My experience with lens cleaners is that they often leave smears and smudges that are just as hard to get rid of as the initial problem.
