First few pictures with D40

    Finally got my D40 this morning and heres a couple of pics. C & C welcome don't be too harsh!

    1) I tried a slow shutter speed to blur the water

    2) Trying out the macro mode with a small caterpillar, seems part of it is out of focus though

    I really like the water shot...beautiful! The caterpillar is nice too. I'm not a fan of the selective coloring used in the 3rd pic. I don't generally mind selective coloring...but I don't think it works in this shot...the leaves look like they are covered with tar. I'd love to see it in full vibrant color.

    those are great shots. Have fun with that D40, you can really do alot with them.

    The first shot is awesome, I love the effect you achieved there. The caterpillar is just a bit out of focus it seems, not as sharp as it should be. I like the third, but as AmberBella said, the selective color doesn't really work in that shot. Good job on the editing though. :D

    If the sky wasnt blown out on first one it woulda been even better. I always love water motion shots
