Good Afternoon from South Texas

Hi There,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the site and fairly new to photography. I am very excited to learn and be like a sponge, but it seems to be kind of difficult to find an open door. Meaning.. I am one of those people who is a hands on learner and like to have someone kind of walk me through it and explain why things work a certain way. I tried to approach some area photographers but noone seems to want to talk. I dont want step on anyones toes....just learn and observe. I am trying on my own by enrolling in NYIP. Any suggestions???

I am in Harlingen, which is about 45 minutes from South Padre Island. My opinion South enough to be Mexico.
