I see that certain lenses are labeled either Grey market or USA version. What is the difference besides the fact that the Grey market ones seem to be a little cheaper?

They are a few dollars cheaper but Nikon will only honor the warranty through the seller of you're camera. You cannot register it or get the tech support or downloads that are available to legitimate cameras.

I learned the hard way. It is not worth the savings. The market should be more aware of the practice. I do not reccommend Digicombos because of the way they dealt with me throughout the process. I could have returned it but the restocking fee would wipe out any savings.

buyer beware.

My D200 is an import, I have had only one issue with it. But.... I will not buy an import again. The 100 i saved was not worth the hassle. Plus with most lenses you get a 5 year warranty, well worth the extra couple of bucks.
