Are you able to get Photo shop CS5 to run with Linux?

I'm really new to linux and my new classes require me to use CS5. I don't want to switch back to windows if I don't have to.

As long as you are running WINE, you should be fine. In the last few years WINE developers have been working pretty dilligently on making sure PS will run... Its not perfect, but you should be fine.

Thanks! I was afraid I'd have to rebuild my desktop just to run CS5 on.

Just as a "maybe you should know".... Wine does go out of its way to make sure cracked (pirated) software dosen't work. So if you "got a copy from your friend" you'll probably run into problems.

WineHQ - Adobe Photoshop CS5 (12.0)

Quoted from WineHQ:

"
What works
Running the program (using an install from windows, see below howto)

What does not
Installation

What was not tested
Photo editing, most functions of the program (coming soon).

Additional Comments

Still testing..."

Yeah, it looks like I made a poor assumption that older versions of PS would work similarly as the newest version.

So then I should set up my desktop and just use it instead?
