    why are Kodak (D)SLRs so expensive?

    and do they need Nikon lenses?

    Your right, it is a stupid question.
    Naw just joking mate, maybe because they have many more functions and are less "Pro" so they have more easy functions.

    They have the DCS SLR/n for Nikon lenses and they have the DCS SLR/c for Canon lenses.

    They are so expensive because they have a full frame (36x24) sensor.

    $4500 US does not seem so high of a price for a full frame DSLR.

    but what about 35mm SLRs? they are very expensive too :p
