Its the time of year to take pictures of bugs. :)

I have a point and shoot, so I can get some nice depth of field stuff going in in close-ups of bugs. However, I have to be really really REALLY close, like a quarter inch, so if the bug is moving, it always moves out of the tiny in-focus spot.

If I got a macro filter, would I not have to be so close and I could have a larger in-focus spot? I have tried closing up the aperture some, but it hasnt worked well.

Tips?

Ply the bug with alcohol until it is almost passing out, so then you can take lots of photos of it. This has worked well for many photographers who photograph creepy-crawlies like Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton.

Haha fantastic. That works or you could look at changing to one of those macro lens that lets you be further away from your target!

:lmao:

Not exactly what I was looking for but I'll keep it in mind!
