I took this picture because I just liked the way this one flower stood out from all the pink ones. I desaturated everything on a different layer, then erased the layer around the yellow flower so it came out strongest. I guess it just means that if you be yourself, and not turn into anything else, you'll burn the brightest, and people will notice you a lot more than if you're just 'one of the crowd'. Anyway, enough of the philosophy.

I like the idea but I would like to see it without the PS enhancements, the pink flowers look diffused like the color is bleeding into the surrounding leaves.

I really don't like the diffuse look of the first. I also prefer the more saturated colors of the second. Maybe try not desaturating as much and just using a simple mask over the yellow flower to avoid the the diffuse look of the first. It is a good idea, try some different approches toward it.
