Mountain Photography

Hello, next week I will be going on a mini vacation to the Grandfather Mountain area. I plan on renting a lens for the occasion. I would love to hear peoples suggestion on which lenses you all might suggest I go for.

Assuming you're shooting with Canon, and I don't know what camera/lens you currently have

17-55 f/2.8 EF-S if you got crop
16-35 II on FF

I would also recommend the range of lens sovietdoc mentioned, but it really comes down to your shooting style / if you will be hiking with it.
