Nikon 40mm Micro 2.8g - Who uses this lens?

Just got my copy in today from amazon, and I like it's performance. However, I did notice that the focus ring is a bit stiff compared to my other nikon lenses, and when I turn the focus ring either way, there is a slight "clicking" noise as if the focus ring is catching on to something. Is this normal with all the 40mm micros?

I don't know about your specific lens, but none of my 4 Nikkor lenses exhibits this kind of behavior. Why don't you contact Nikon technical support, and ask them if it's normal. Maybe you can make a short video and have them look at it. Last question, does it make a difference if you switch it to M mode only, rather than leaving it on M/A?

hmmmm. Some of my AF-S lenses will move smoothly until they reach CF or infinity limit and then move more stiffly. I have not ever noticed any clicking.
