Nikon DX ???

    hello all

    I have a Nikon D50 currently with a 70-300mm

    I was ebayen for a new lenses a came across a term i am not familiar with. I started to notice a lot of the newer lenses had a DX/fx... I was like many noobs frightened by a new pair of letters... Anywho i was wondering if someone could in simple terms shed som light on what dx is and how can it help/hurt me.

    DX is the Nikon designation for lenses designed for camera with an APS-sized sensor such as your D50. FX lenses are designed for full frame sensors (24x36mm). To keep it short both DX and FX lenses will work on your D50.
