noise reduction in LR... a better way???

I have to process lots and lots of photos in Lightroom...and I love LR for this. It works great for tweaking many many things.

Except noise reduction. Don't get me wrong - it's not HORRIBLE at it, especially the color noise reduction. I think THAT'S pretty good. But the luminance noise reduction is just crap, IMO. You have to really crank it up to get any real results and by then you've lost most detail.

Are there any other options for noise reduction in Lightroom? When I shoot, say, indoor sports at ISO1600, they really need some NR work done. But I can't run every single shot through Noise Ninja in CS3. That would take FOREVER.

Is there, perhaps, another program I can use to do noise reduction on a large number of photos at a time?

I just realized I could record the NR action in CS3 then batch process using that action.
