Pastel Colors for Our Rooms

My daughter purchased a new house and we are thinking about interior designs that would fit small rooms. Anyway, I just found out and see this online and we are interested to have pastel accents. What do you think? Any Idea?

As to actually painting rooms, I will say that if you don't have much experience at selecting colors, you're going to want some help.

The problems:

Small rooms experience colors differently than large rooms.

Small samples of paint look different than entire walls painted that color.

Discontinuous colors (as in adjacent rooms, etc.) make spaces feel smaller.

Same for trim of a different color.

Pastels tend to become tiresome quickly.

Straight pastels are jarring when an entire room is thus painted.

Decorating is an art that is best done by someone who knows how.
