    Hey gang,

I was at Barnes & Noble yesterday, looking for a good photography magazine, and I never realized that there are a ton of them.

As I have mentioned umpteen times, I'm new to all of this, so I'm not even sure what magazines are good and what are crap. I'm looking for a general, all purpose type, but less on the reviews since I already have a cam, and more on technique and hints, and well, the stuff I find here on the forum.

    Thanks as always!

As you have noticed, there are lots of them...I'd suggest browsing a few and pick the ones you like. I've got a subscription to Popular Photography (received as a gift), it's OK but every issue is about half advertising...and it's the same ads over and over again. This is true for most main stream mags though.

If you want some better reading material...I'd suggest books. The library would be a good place to start. The basics of photography have not changed much...so even older books can be quite helpful.
