Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hey guys, I am just a begginer and I don't even have my own camera but I have been wanting to get a DSLR for a while now. The only problem is being a kid I don't have much money and my parents won't give me money for a camera (even though they easily could). I was wondering if you guys thought that over the summer if I went to events and took pictures I could make enough to pay back like $600 for a d40x? These are some sample pictures that I shot with my friends Olympus E500 (the first slr I have ever used and the first time I used it.) Also Comments and Advice on the pictures are greatly apreciated! Thanks

Hi
welcome to TPF. To be honest, there's nothing spectacular about the images you have posted. I think if you have an interest in photography, thats awesome.. keep workign on it. Maybe get a job to save up some cash for a cheaper DSLR? Like the canon rebel is really goign down in price, especially because the xsi is being released. I have the rebel and I only paid 450 for it. Its a pretty great starting camera.

Also, it helps if you number your pictures and post only a few to critique. I think in the series you posted, the running ones at the end are probably the best. Good luck!

Ok thanks. What about a Nikon D40, are they better or worse for the money than the Canon?

P.S. I see you are from Haverhill, MA, I am from Harvard. Small world lol

Either Canon or Nikon will serve you well. But go test some out at a store and see which one feels better.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Here we go again.

This has been discussed here ad nauseam.;)

No offense, but the D40 has got to be the most popular thread topic or at least one of the top 3 here!

Here are some threads you might find useful:
