Please Help! Nikon SB-600 Flash

My flash just stopped working. It turns on but it will not fire. The zoom works as well as all of the settings.. but it will not fire even when I press the "flash" button. Any help would be much appreciated!

Does it flash when you press the "test" button?

Try it with brand-new, fresh batteries. Listen closely when you turn it on, you should hear a very faint whining sound. Does the "Test" button illuminate?

It does not fire when the test button is pressed and the whine is not there. I also tried freah batteries Could it be the flash tube? I found this tutorial on replacing one. Replacing a broken Nikon SB-600 flash tube | Florian Freundt

No it does not fire when I press the test button, it has fresh batteries, and all of the display, zoom, and settings appear to be working
