Purple Flower. (playing with ps cs2)

maybe it would look better if the stems were colored as well...

Yeah I agree, I will have to go back and see what, if anything I can do with this shot, or maybe just ditch it all together. I was trying to salvage it, but I'm not sure that it would be worth it.

In your original version (if I may say so?) the background is sooo distracting that, instead of seeing the beautiful flower first, my immediate thought was: "Oh, a deck without railing! Never would any building authorities in my country give anyone permission to have THAT!"

You're absolutly right on that, I really don't like the original picture as a "picture" at all. The flower however I do like the look of so I was trying to rescue it. It is at my mom's house in PEI, and I'm heading back over there for the weekend next weekend, so maybe I'll just reshoot it, and see what happens. Maybe while I'm at it I'll tell them to put up a railing too. Even Canadian building code probably require a railing on it, but my mom sometimes like to live on the edge.
