Retouch help...

I took this picture the other day but feel it's just a bit too dark where the model is. Does anyone know how I could lighten it a bit? I tired in Photoshop but didn't feel the results were very good.

Honestly, I think that is an instance where a re-shoot would really be the most beneficial if you can. You're right, the model's face is lost in shadow. A reflector would have been great in this instance as a fill light.

That said, this is a quick edit in Lightroom:
- Fill light to 100
- Clarity to 100
- Exposure adjustment brush to brighten face
- Desaturation adjustment brush to remove the unnaturally red skin tones caused by the Fill light boost

Even with that, a re-shoot will produce WAY better results than my quick hack at it or a concerted post-processing effort by a skilled individual.

Agreed. Re-shoot with a reflector to fill in her face and the right side of the image.
