Self Portrait for C&C

I picked up a 50mm 1.8 tonight and wanted to try it out

I think it turned out pretty good considering i have no real studio setup in my office

Not bad, but it's underexposed and not very sharp (or missed focus maybe).

its a good shot, good pose, but could be a great shot with proper lighting. his shirt bleeds into the backround and just make him look like a floating head with an arm. but once again, you did good with having no studio setup or anything at your disposal

i purposefully underexposed it 1 stop, planning to edit in pp, but i ended up liking it the way it is....

as far as the black background...its a curtain in my office, i liked the contrast between the black and the wall color.


i might try it again with just the wall color

does anyone have any tips on getting a clear focus while trying to shoot yourself? its harder from in front of the camera.
