sigma 30/1.4

i'm looking into buying two new lenses. i wanted a wide-ish, fast lens for general and portrait work, and have heard a few good things about sigma's 30/1.4.. anyone have experience with this lens/examples?

I bought it, (only a few months old, from someone here on the forums). It's a great, fantastic lens. The image quality is very very good.

I don't have the Canon 35mm F1.4 L to compare it to...but many reviews say that the image quality of the Sigma is pretty close to that of the Canon...which is, of course...out of this world (and much, much more expensive).
