Okay, so I got my new Canon Powershot S5 IS yesterday. I love it already, but there is one setting that is driving me insane, and I was hoping someone could help me. I don't know how I changed these settings or how to get them back to 'normal.'

When I zoom, the little digital zoom bar appears and shows me how much I have zoomed, etc. Under it, it shows the focal range (ie: 55mm to infinity, etc.). When I first turned on the camera, it showed the # of times it was magnified - 8x, 10x, etc. Now it doesn't show the "#x" anymore and I want it to. I don't know how to get that back or if I was seeing something else to begin with.

I'm not a total newb, and definitely not a Canon newb, but I feel like it!

    Thanks for any help.

Somewhere in the users's guide it should list how to reset the camera setting to "default' which is where you began. I have a Canon A570is and I know it tells how to reset to default.
    Good luck
