SUNPAK FLASH-TAKE TWO

Alright. I recently posted a question about a Sunpak flash that i have. However, i realized that what i posted was incorrect. My flash only tells me the paerature(example, F/4 or F/8) IS that what i set on my camera and then choose a reasonable shutter speed of my choice? Thanks in advance!

You usually choose the shutter speed on your camera that is synchronised for flash - usually 1/30th or 1/60th but some camera/flash combos can go faster. If you set it wrong then you will either get ghost images or a nice picture of your shutter blades in motion.
