taking pictures of heat

I was sitting in class today trying to think of some "different" pictures to take and I started to wonder. On a day that was really hot, like when you can see the heat from asphalt or something radiating off of it(you know the little wavy lines above the road). haha, anyways would it be possible to take a picture of this?? might make for a cool picture, might make for a terrible one

i think this is possible....i've seen pictures of desert landscapes with "heat waves".....experiment with it.....see what happens....

Yes, it is possible. I have photographed people through the heat from a bonfire, and the wavy, almost liquid look is quite pronounced on the print.
