What is your camera?

Do yall actually shoot with all those cameras?? and carry all that stuff around?? I have a cabinet full of cameras but most rarely see any action.

weird. i've looked at almost the EXACT same set of lenses, except make the 50 1.8 a 1.4. is that the tamron 17-35?

my equipment is down there in my signature. lense-wise i just have cheapo lenses for my f3, plan on selling them and saving up a bit and getting the classic nikkor 50 1.4 AI and the 180mm 2.8 AI, or i might switch all canon. havent decided. for my 20d i just have a 17-35 2.8-4, in a couple weeks an 85 1.8.

I don't carry all the gear at once, but I don't have to carry the same gear everyday. ;)

I have about 10 cameras that I would consider my main users. Some see year round action, others may only come out for a project every few months. My grab and go camera changes every few months. Beyond that I have another dozen or so cameras that see very occasional use. They may be specialized, or weird, such as under-water, 360 degree, sequence, and of course, I have a bunch of 35mm SLRs that sit around waiting for a more popular model to break down.

I like to have a choice of several different cameras so that I don't have to carry anything more than is necessary. For walking around town I may grab my Ansco Titan folding camera, because it has no accessories, and the only thing else I need is a few rolls of film, and maybe a light meter. I can fit it all in my pockets. If I need a bit more precision I can go with the Rollei TLR; it fits in a small bag with the flash, film, and all the accessories. If I need all the options, and I'm willing to tote the gear, then I can go with a SLR or view camera system.

look at my sig. but if you can't tell that's an Oly E500. hopefully i'll add an FL36 flash to that list soon :)

FWIW, I am a working pro (newspaper photojournalist) and my bag is pretty typical of what most PJ pro's use. Two digital bodies, long zoom, short zoom and an ultra-lightweight, off-camera lighting kit built around the same type of shoe-mount strobe most amateurs would carry.

More into here.

Hope that helps.
