Which camera?

Can someone tell me what the best camera of these are?
All these product specifications are a bit confusing to me! I basically want a camera that: a) take the pic almost instantly. 2) takes good pics in motion. 3)takes good close up and features of the face. 4)red eye removal. Anything else I need to be looking at?

I don't know what your budget is, but I would suggest that you have a look at a digital SLR camera. It would out perform any of the point-&-shoot cameras that you have listed. I have found that most p&s digicams can be rather slow to take the photo after you press the button. That makes it hard to get action shots, or even to get good expressions on people's faces.

A DSLR will have a real shutter, just like a film camera. The response time should be much faster.

There are plenty of other reasons that a DSLR is better. Image quality is a big one. Typically they have digital sensors that are much bigger that the small ones in digicams. Of course DSLR cameras are fairly bigger than the compact P&S digicams.

Have a look at the Canon Rebel XT & the Nikon D50. They are probably more expensive than those listed but you get 10 times the camera for only twice the price.

I would love to get an SLR but they are a couple of hundred pounds above my budget I love the canon rebel xt but it would cost me about 600£(900$) Too expensive! On the other hand the Ixus is only about 320£. Will I not get as good quality with a P&S?
I would love to buy an SLR, maybe in a couple of years when my budget is higher!
Which P&S do you think is the best? I have heard the nikon coolpix 7600 and the Canon Ixus 750 SD550.
