The imposing Castel Boccale, a castle hanging on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Mediterranean on the shores of Tuscany, in Italy. A 75 second long exposure taken with Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide-Heliar and my trusted Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters. I can't wait to be back...
..Well, technically not an entire minute, but a blend of 4 exposures of between 6-20seconds.
The weather hasn't allowed me to get back to the mountains as yet so I headed downtown to play with some long exposures..
So I tried out the D850 multiple expo mode last few days...
I think I can still blend nicer in PS without the cloud stutter but its a nice feature to have.. Also, this is a part of Sofia, A lot of my mountain shots are shot in the mountain you see in the back, Vitosha ..

Heavy fog and freezing temperatures obviously meant it was a great time for me to head out downtown. Here's one of the shots I came away with from the night; well worth it..

Morning all,
After visiting London in June for the Foo Fighters concert, I had been gagging to get back up there with the camera. That materialsed a couple weekends ago, visiting some of the City's famous landmarks and museums to get some shots a little out of my comfort zone. Nothing here...
This is the first time I'd actually attempted to capture lightning and I was pleased with the results, the only thing is I wished my balcony and the lightning were over some other part of the city, you can't win them all..
All shot on the D850 with the 24-70 2.8, All 3 have different shutter...
Next week I'll be again working in Dorset, and this image (taken there last December) came to my mind. This is the famous Durdle Door, but the sky that evening inspired me to go for a very long exposure, 200 seconds for a very dramatic B&W. Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm Super-Wide-Heliar and...

Dunnottar Castle early morning by Mark Coull, on Flickr
This morning my alarm went off at 03:30am for heading up to Dunnottar Castle for a sunrise (05:15) attempt with a friend. Unfortunately the weather apps lied as it was raining and the sun would be smothered in a thick wall of cloud. So...
Shot this a couple years back while in Quincy, IL after attending a car show. Out of all the times we've visited this is the first where I stuck around long enough to get a shot of bridge and to my surprise it lit up with some colorful lights. Shot with Canon 7D and Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8.
