Because of the long thin legs and tiny size of this mosquito like entity, it was extremely hard to get off a good shot.
Never stops moving, and the wind blows him around real easy. Anyway, I just wanted to shoot something today.

Shot at F14, ISO1600, 1/100 - Hand held. Pentax 100mm Macro

i can relate....the lovely thing about macro is theres always SOMETHING tiny to shoot in the yard!

It wasn't in the yard. I was going for ducks back at the pond behind the house, but they didn't show up.
Opportunity presented itself. Soooooo.........lol. It had to be done. I lie to you not when I tell you it was hard as hell to get this shot.

can't tell if large mosquito

or small crane fly...

Whatever it is, its got to be related to the mosquito. I'm gonna look around and see if I can find something on the critter.

You were right.
It's a crane fly.

looks like a mosquito hawk... well thats what we call them here... they look like giant ass mosquitoes but they don't suck blood :D

Very nice work! I need to get a macro lens

Thank you. I try. I really do.
Sometimes people see it.
Everyone who has a camera should have a macro lens. And learn to use it.
