Well I have been before many years ago before I was into wildlife photography. So recently I have been waiting for a good time to return to take some photos of birds. Huntington SP is known to be one of the best locations for birding in South Carolina, and now I know why. The diversity is amazing, there is a 1/4" causeway that divides a tidal marsh from a brackish water pond, wading birds love to fish both sides. There are other locations including the beach, but I found the most luck to be walking up and down the causeway.
It begins at 3:00PM on Thursday
This snowy egret was working the tidal marsh at low tide, using his foot to stir up small fish, notice the water making a neat curve as the bird shakes it head
1)
The same snowy going in for a small fish
2)
Juvi night heron flying by in the late sun
3)
A great blue heron flyby soon after
4)
Went over to the pond side and got this scape shot of the marsh grass
5)
back over to the tidal side to see this yellow leg in the dwindling light -caption "hey I look good"
6)
Back over to the pond side to capture the last image of Thursday a nice sunset.
