My dear wife has 4 hydrangea plants that she's had for a decade. To encourage them to create colorful blooms I have been trained each morning to dutifully go out and dump yesterday's coffee grounds (acidic) on the hydrangeas. I posted a couple photos two weeks ago, but here's more. This has been the best hydrangea year ever.

P.S. And a stray daylily.

Holly Molly !! What blazing colors. Never seen shades like that before. And I've been throwing out my coffee grinds for more then 30 years since we got the house.

Photographically speaking, picture #2 has the perfect blend of DOF and exposure, that compliments your composition perfectly. The Daylily composition is perfectly exposed and composed. Just could use a little less DOF to soften the background.

Those coffee grounds are gold -- if you don't have hydrangeas then spread them on your lawn. The local Starbucks saves all their grounds and bags them up at the front door. We stop by periodically and pick them up and my wife uses them for lawn fertilizer.

Glad you liked the photos.
