11 day old baby girl C&C

This picture was taken inside their home which was very poorly lit. I was using a 50mm f/1.8 lens and external flash. I didn't have any extra lighting.

Please give me some feedback on how I could make the picture better next time, and anything you see with this one.

the picture was taken with the following settings: f/3.5 1/13 sec iso400

I like the photo a lot... I would like to see a little more detail between the head and the background but overall I like the way it was shot. Did you soften it in pp? If so I would think just a little less would be better. Again... Nice!

EDIT: When I said head I meant forehead.

I like it the baby looks comfortable and did you use any lighting?

The only lighting was a lamp in the house and my 270ex flash

i like it but i am drawn to the hand/wrist as this is more in focus than the babies face. maybe just watch the point of focus as this, as well as the lightest part of the pic is where the eye is drawn to.
aside from that, lovely

Thanks for the feedback, I hadn't paid attention to that but do see it now. I think that will really help me in the future to pay more attention to the primary focus point.

I really appreciate the feedback in how to get better, would love to hear some more ideas.
