14-24/f2.8 & 70-200R II /f 2.8

Well, these buggers are simply too heavy and too large for my liking. I prefer to go to primes when I really need a lot of light / a very shallow depth of field.

The only thing I really miss on my 70-200mm f4 VR is weather sealing. I really dont understand this oversight. Of course I still use it in the rain; I just try to keep it below my raincoat.

Do the math. You can buy a full range of primes with the savings described above and get much better photos.
Yes, primes rule. Especially also because of more light. And recently Sigma is publishing some *really* sweet stuff in this area for Nikon F / Canon EOS.
