Ordered these last week from ebay for 15 dollars including shipping. I tried it first with my Sigma 24-70 but it wasn't working. It was just blur. So, I threw it on my 18-55 kit lens. And wow for 15 dollars this is GREAT ! Here are the first shots that I took with it. Straight from camera, No editing done, Shot in JPEG.
C&C if you please.

1.Girl friends eye lashes: (Two tubes on , 1 and 3 )

2.Something I found in my kitchen, smells like ginger? idk (all 3 tubes on)

3.My $0.01 remote switch. Love this thing (All 3 tubes on )

Now what I've noticed is that the DOF is SEVERE ! Like I only can focus on a little spot. Is it possible that I can get the whole object without getting this effect?

Thanks,

I have those... they are fun but they're a pain in the ass to focus with. You can stop down your lens for a deeper depth of field. Just mount the lens to the body without tubes, set the aperture to f/18 or f/22 or something up there and then dismount the lens while holding down the DOF preview button. You can now mount it to your tubes at f/whatever. Beware though, it makes focusing difficult since you can't really see squat through the viewfinder (it gets DARK).

You'll probably get best results with your 50mm.

I took this with those exact tubes and my cheap 50mm:

I remember seeing that picture around before and thats what I was looking for. When I was taking the shot of my girl friends eye. But I couldn't pull it off, so I just decided to go for the eye lashes.

But thanks for the tip for the DOF. Definitely going to try that !

Yeah.. it works alright if you have a lot of light at least. That one photo I put up here was done with an off-camera flash (bare) and lens forced to f/11

Yeah once I just ordered my lighting equipement the other day. So once I get a hold of that Hopefully I can get some shots as good as that one.

I got a $50 set off adorama. It's got the electrical contacts to enable AF, which is virtually useless anyway.

Here's my attempt at eyeballs. This is actually my own eye.

Outstanding shot... but imo it's so underprocessed it's not even funny. All I see here is an amazing amount of untapped detail.

Here's a quick edit I did. (burn/dodge/sharpen/sponge/crop)

^Edit looks very good!

You see, I recently upgraded my computer and I haven't had a chance to...erm...acquire a copy of Photoshop yet so my editing is limited to LR at the moment.

WoW --- I need to find something like this for the Nikon. Those are excellent photos, and I would love to try my hand at it!

Careful letting everyone know about that sort of thing.
And I'd definitely advise you to strip your exif data and maybe not sell your services much if that's the case.
Just to protect yourself anyway.

I posted it in a thread a while back but, like the majority of my threads, it didn't seem to garner much interest...

Oh don't I know the feeling.

My most popular thread on here (by a huge margin) was a stupid controversial joke thread that turned into a huge ****storm.

Them sites make me SO nervous though...

I spent $500 on this computer...I don't want to mess it up!
