I think.

These both are much too soot and snow for me (blacks and whites with no middle tones) thus they end up looking very harsh and cold.

Second, they are both loosely cropped and leave the viewer's eye to wander off with no real reason.

I think you should reprocess the originals to get more middle tones then crop them tighter.

I like the first one more than the second, although I do like Lew's crop on the second. I think #2 is a little weird just because it looks unnatural (him being so much taller), in #1 you can't tell

#1, his pose looks good but not her. Also, why is the bouquet blurry? Shutter too slow?
#2, why are they standing underneath really low tree? Were you afraid of the sun? You want more separation from the background.

I'm guessing 1 has be blurry bouquet due to slow speed, yes. And I actually am finding it a bit distracting..

And 2 wasn't a fear of sun.. It was actually a garden arbor with vines that they wanted a picture under (we were in a beautiful garden in someone's yard) but I definitely see what you mean, thank you! I will keep better separation from background in mind in the future!
