I was walking around the local park a while ago and snapped these:

I'm looking to increase my DOF, I'm assuming a good macro flash would help?

PS - I love that second pic, C&C welcome.

A flash would help yes, but really the thing that would be best is to use a smaller aperture, instead of the typical f/2.8, try something like f/8 but you'll need higher ISO slower shutter and maybe a flash too.

The second one looks a little freaky. The first one is incredible though. A flash just might help.

hmmm... i am not sure about either of the images; i liked the thorns in the first image; i just could not figure out anything in the second.... sorry

A flash will help you handhold at small apertures, so that would give greater DOF.

Alternatively, and not always practical, is a tripod to hold the camera steady.
