+1 on the portrait orientation and try to get the power cord out of the spark shower, just a little distracting

Perhaps from the other side you'd get more of his face and less of the power cord?

think the 1st is out of focus but I know it is not a easy shot to get! two I would like to see cropped different, also maybe a little fill flash!?

I'm going to crop it later after to school to see how it comes out

the only reason I didn't at first was because the person i was shooting was drifting and wanted to see all the snow he kicked up in the picture.
