Here's some images from Monday's event. I was at a friend's cabin in the mountains above Lake Chatuge in GA.
Driving 70 miles home through The Great Traffipocalypse was like being in a major evacuation!

Thanks! I've been looking forward to this eclipse for two years, and it did not disappoint. Was lucky to only have one cloud pass across the Sun during the entire event and to have a spot all to myself where my friends stayed away and didn't bug me. So bizarre that all the insects started chirping, the Whip-poor-wills (thought they were extinct!) started tweeting... and unfortunately the mosquitoes suddenly thought it was feeding time. I didn't prepare for the mosquitoes...

Thanks, everyone! The flares were a surprise- on the camera's display I thought it might be terrible lens flare, haha
