There is so much more substance in this thread, but I wanted to say thanks for this. I like this idea. I have certain hand signals that I use, taking a picture of my hand with 3 fingers up (part of AEB sequence), or index-finger to thumb (like a circle, for panoramics), or a closed fist to stop/abort the previous sequence of frames. But pretty soon I run out of hand signals. Plus at small thumbnail sizes, a black frame is faster to spot than a somewhat-close-to-the-same overall brightness picture of my hand.
