2k budget for lens for Jewelry or new camera?

Hello everybody,
Well I'm looking for the best lens I can buy for my GF's Canon 20D for around 2k or more if you believe its worth it. I'm looking to take pictures that are similar quality to these Bvlgari. Please, also note that I do not know that much about photography, although the GF is finishing up at Kendall college for photography. Should I focus the majority of the money on a lens for the camera or an entirely new camera?

Would she need a more expensive lens than the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM for $455? It looks like she'd need some lighting equipment for those shots.

I will be doing a lot of pictures so I was just looking for the best lens, is anything else overkill?

I'm not a Canon shooter, but I agree with the previous poster; those images are ALL about lighting; I'm not sure if there's a 'L' lens in that focal length, the one linked to should do an excellent job.

Yeah, I'd go with the 100mm Macro and spend the rest on lighting.

Keep your camera, it's fine. Spend the money on glass and lights.
