3 for c&c houston art district

keep in mind this is only my 3rd shoot ever and 2nd month camera owner

C&C per req: While this slightly desaturated, faux high-key look seems popular right now, I'm not a fan.

1. This image really needs more light. The highlights on their hair are totally blown, and the use of an off-camera light image right would have helped greatly. Their facial expressions rather make me think that you've surprised them and they didn't expect their pictures to be taken.

2. Still rather too bright in the highlights for my taste, but overall a good exposure. The expression however really ruins the shot IMO.

3. Even exposure here, but rather flat. The crop is also a little tight IMO.

These aren't bad shots at all, not a style to which I subscribe, but not bad. Keep practicing.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

thanks tired iron... can you explain "flat"?

I like second most. Girl on the first looks too closed, IMO

kinda boring and the exposures vary. You could have posted them up on the top of the staircase and had a view of downtown in the background. I think you seriously under utilized your choice of settings here.
