30mm vs 50mm

Hello guys! here again to ask for help to those who can!

I'm looking into purchasing a 2nd hand Sigma 30mm 1.4 HSM, and I've got a question for you guys regarding the 'wideness' of the lens.

I already have a 50mm 1.8 but I wanted something wider that is within reach of my pocket! and i came across the 30mm in another forum.

do you guys have comparative shots that used the 30mm and the 50mm?
I mean if you guys have picture/s taken by the both lens from the same distance?

i'm really after the wideness so that I can use it in parties that are a bit short on space...i was thinking of getting the 17-50 by Tamron but as of the moment, it's out of my pocket's reach!

For a DX camera the 50mm is not a good fit as a normal lens. The 30mm is a real normal lens.

do you have a zoom lens that covers the focal length?Say a 18-55?If you have,just zoom to the focal length

Just use your kit lens and set it to 35mm. Is that wide enough for you?
