Ok, picked up a Dslr for dummies book today a a reference guide. Because i have NO idea what i'm doing when it comes to ANYTHING, and even more so when it comes to PP.

Some of you might remember my duck landing picture that was so underexposed it was almost black. heres my first Attempt at PP and what i came up with. the first is the original followed by the PP'd

I know its not perfect, its just my first attempt.:blushing:

Well, you restored some light into the picture ... but while doing so, you also brought up a lot of negative elements into the shot. You got some weird pixelation on the duck's front, along with the rest of the shot.

Truthfully, you would be better off PP a better shot from the beginning to truely see how your PP skills are. Plus, the original shot is an instant delete from the camera imo.

i agree with geaux its an instant delete ....try to get as perfect an image straight out of camera (SOOC) a possible pp should enhance not correct IMO ....practice more and have fun:thumbup:

Thanks for your help, My second attempt wont be such a lost cause

haha thanks ....btw ur exposure compensation is set to -1 in this pic set it to 0 in my experience its easier to correct a little overexposure than underexposure

Lol... ya i found that out when i edited the raws of the pictures i took on my snowshoing yesterday... All overexposed.

Sooner or later i'll find a happy medium :D
