I wasn't sure where to put this, but I've had my 40D since December, and the burst mode isn't working like it used to. I was at an airshow today, and I noticed it would take maybe 8 pictures before slowing down. I've tried shooting without a memory card, raw mode, small Jpeg, fresh batteries, everything... and it's still slowing down. Not only that, but I take a few pictures really fast, and it's like it's not writing fast enough or something. Has anyone heard of this, or do you have any ideas to what may be wrong??

Is the highlight thing turned on?

make sure you have the noise reduction features turned off in the CF menu. Also, If you're using Auto Focus, make sure it's not trying to focus. THe one shot mode can cause problems.

Check out page 156 in the manual

Is your memory card fast enouugh?

Hey, thanks for the help. Turns out the answer was so obvious...NOISE REDUCTION! I should have known that..Looks like I need to learn my camera a little better. :blushing:
