A couple of tips I picked up about Hummers was that they are very predictable in their behavior around the feeder. Generally, they will hover, go in for a sip, back off and then do a double dip (aka George Castanza) [video=youtube;YWuSi00CcNk]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWuSi00CcNk"]aka Geroge Castanza[/url] . What I did was to pre-focus and move the lens to where they backed off. Snap[/video].
Another tip is on the day you go out to shoot them, place some clear tape over all the ports except the one where you're pre-focusing. They get confused for just a little while, but figure out where the juice is. [URL="http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa199/kundalini2737/Hummer-3.jpg"]Snap.
Great shots BTW. Wow, to have a 300mm f/2....... ATM I have to settle for an f/4.
