50's theme?

okay, so there is a daddy-daughter dance coming up at my daughter's school and they are going for a 50's theme. What am I supposed wear, I don't know much about the the time period but what I think of is like a white t-shirt and tight jeans, maybe a leather jacket or letterman jacket- I am thinking The Fonz. I have none of this (except a white t-shirt) and don't want to spend a whole bunch on clothes to wear once. Also, I have a shaved head and I don't really know how that could be incorporated since the greased hair seemed to be a pretty dominating theme back then. Maybe someone here has some suggestions? Maybe I am way off in my perception? I am going off movies and tv shows like Grease, Happy Days, parts of Back to the Future, etc...

Obviously the best looking Elvis was the 1968 concert in black leather. If I were that way inclined....... he coulda had me..... over and over and over again.
