Spent the day at the Wildlife Park again...I love the place. A good shooting day, i think. Here are some images from yesterday. I haven't put any lions in, as they are in my other thread (Anyone a Leo?).

I really wanted a picture of the mother and the joey, but she wouldn't move from the fence. I may have a go at sorting one of the images I got, though. But for now, here's the cute joey...

Thanks folks. I'm sure that owl was unscrewing the inscrutable...he was wiser than me, I am certain!
I really wish that wallabby mum had moved some so I could get a good picture of them both...

It's in it's cage...they do fly these birds when the weather gets better. He was a naturally inquizitive bird, so when I got up close to the wire I had to lean at about 45 degrees to do that!) he looked up at the camera...perfect.

I am an equal opportunities photographer...I take pictures of anything, irrespective of deformation or disability in the creature!

It could be...he was in his enclosure, which is all wood, hence the colour cast, i think. Obviously dark, and trying to get an exposure at all with anything other than the 50mm 1.8 would be impossible without flash. Didn't want the flash to set of the wire mesh, so this is what we got. I could up the exposure in post, but I quite like the subdued look. Open to interpretation, though.

I'm new here so anything I say isn't worth beans, but anyway... The Owl is great, I like the exposure but I wish the aperture was set a tad deeper so the outside edges of it's eyes were crisper. The guinea fowl is just cool! The white on his head is a tiny bit too bright for me and distracts just a touch, and I think I can see you in the reflection on it's eyes.

Thanks. For the owl, I had no choice but to shoot at 1.8...he was indoors and I didn't want to flash him. Hence the shallow DoF.
The Guinea Fowl...not sure it is that bright, to be honest. I have my monitor calibrated and all the detail is there...and yes, I am there in the reflection.
