60's Mod / Rocker style photo C&C welcome

I was just wondering what you guys thought about this. This is me next to a field in the dark of night. Its been edited so that it looks like an old, 60's style with plenty of grain. It isn't something I spent hours on, just a quick thing I edited in my spare time.

I think the idea works, but the image quality is so poor (compression?) that I really can't make out much...

It does seem like an average photo masked with a filter that doesn't improve it...

The noise grain is all wrong. The look is right though. he definitely looks straight out of the early 60's.

If you want real vintage then get an old slr and some film. Let the film sit around for a long time until it is well expired and then shoot with it. Results will be better if it is developed by someone rather then a machine at a store. The machines automatically make lots of enhancements to reduce noise. But its better easy to find hipsters with bathtub developing.

Like I say, I've edited it so that it looks old. Hence why the quality is poor, it has nothing to do with compression.

I too do not see much sixties here. I also am not sure "plenty of grain" is typical of '60s. It is at least equally typical of digital P&S used on evening (which is more like I feel this one... sorry).

Me thinks you went overboard with the grain. You nailed everything else (like a James McNeill Whistler painting) and then ruined it (like Mr. Bean did when he wiped ink on "Whistler's Mother" and then tried to fix it)

Please tell me you have the original to work with and re-do this. You'll do an awesome job the second time around if you remember to keep tabs on how much grain you use. A little is a lot better than more.
