a bordom pic and a scenery

I don't do a whole lot of scenery photography. but it was nice out today so took a walk with my son to get some shots. unfortunately, I forgot my hot shoe-stand adapters so had to put the flash on the ground.

The dog, I was bored last night so tried to get some shots, nothing really came out like I wanted so I just photoshoped the hell out of it for fun.

1 doesn't do it for me really. Just kinda boring and too much black in the middle for me.
I really like number 2 though. Nice angle, cute dog, and nice PP!

Number one: This lacks a good composition. My eye doesn't really no what to focus on. I like the silhouette and sunset, however there is a random lit up tree just sitting in the foreground.

Number two: Great DOF here. I like it.

Thanks for the responses. The dog one was mostly done in pp. The actual picture is pretty horrible. But, I like to take bad pictures and see what I can salvage from them. Well, I don't like to TAKE them, I just like to see what i can do with ones I do take...
