A butterfly and its larva

I do not always post my best shots but ones which show a particular aspect of the critter. In the case above, the red feelers put out by this caterpillar in defence. Here is another one which might be better.....



Then again, sometimes I just take bad shots, especially when they are one-handed. LOL!!

 

First one is awesome, great lighting and great comp. The second one's focus is not where my eye is drawn, and it detracts from the overall image.

the first one for me too Joan. Great work. I think you missed the focus on the caterpillar. I would love to see another shot of him. He is really cool looking. You see some amazing bugs and animals.

Thanks TC, I have added another one for you. We do have some amazing critters here. I only started taking close-ups 6 months ago but have discovered a whole new world out there.
