A Cat For C&C

I snapped this picture on a farm today when i saw it in a bush. I shot it with an Olympus E-P1 at 150mm and f/5.6. Thanks<br><br>

what do you want critiqued?

It is a cat.. with a bad eye. Framed by trees on either side. Cat is centered at the bottom of the photo, ROTs was ignored. There is unneeded negative space above the cat and you cut the cats feet and lower body off. Natural light... no flash. Focus looks good, but image is very small so hard to tell.

You could have improved it by having ALL of the cat showing.. or anything that the cat is behind, would have given more definition. A better crop would show more of the subject and less tree and deadspace.

Is that better?

The light is coming in a bit harsh, not my cup of tea.

Too much space above the cat. I'd rather have shown more of the body of the cat than the boring background.

Looks sharp at the size posted. For more feedback post a crop at 100%.

Pretty kittie though.

thank you, i would have shown the whole cat, but the bottom half of it was obscured by bushes and twigs, i know that isnt an excuse, but thanks for the critique!

As I mentioned.. showing those bushes would be far better than cutting off the cat. Bushes look normal, and add to the shot. Cutting the cat in half looks odd.. and kills the shot. Just trying to help! lol!

yes.. it is! it shows that he is staying back, in a protected area... as a feral cat will. It sets the context for that image.

Not bad photos but still too much of the tree showing and taking away from the cat. In the last one, there is too much light causing a blow out. As far as #1, the other eye is open just a sliver as I can make it out (use to have cats when I was younger) but still too much of the tree showing above taking away from the cat.
