Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
It was kind of quick. I snatched my niece and my sisters blanket and decided to take a few pics. I know they are far from great but the only way to learn is to be corrected and practice. So I stand brave lol. BTW - I know there's some harsh neck shadows I didnt like so I ordered some reflectors from adorama. They should be here wednesday.

You don't copy the URL in the address bar, you have to right click on the image and copy the image location and then put that in. We can't see those. They're private.

Links don't work

I dont know if its Photobucket or my eyes are playing tricks on me...On my actual file viewing, the image doesn't appear as cold ( for lack of better words) as whats showing.

Nice start, but just some comments...first, please number your images when you post them, it makes it a lot easier for a reviewer to refer to. Thanks.

The first two, in fact all three of them, look a little dark on my calibrated monitor. The problem in the first two is the black background - it is okay, but should have some light on it, otherwise the child's head and black hair blend right into the background. You are right about the harsh shadows and the ones under the neck - 'nuff said. There is also a gnawing thought in my head that says that these images seem to have a bit of a colour cast to them - not sure, because I just can't put my finger on it,

The one of the dog - again, part of its head and back tend to blend in with the background - some places more, some places less. Also, the colour looks a bit off - the "green grass" in the background should be, in my opinion, a little greener - maybe, it's just the time of year - don't know. HTH.

Cheers,

WesternGuy

Thank you for your time.... The images do seem dark but only on photobucket.... The actual images are nowhere that dark and dull. I actually ordered a white background instead of the black lol but black is next on my list. I used a bare flash above her hair and it helped intitially but the background bounced back wayyyy to much light. Lets see how that works.I still have the original but duelly noted:-)Im going to make a DIY snoot when i get home. As for the dog, he's brown and its the end of fall here so the grass isn't too great. Maybe I can run I through PS and see if I can pp it a bit to show some stuff. Thanks again.

Also, if anyone would like to see the original file,I can email them. I don't know why photobucket darkened the heck out of it

I don't really have anything to add beyond what's already been said about the first two.
In the picture of the dog, there's a green and white object in the background that looks like it's coming straight out of the dog's mouth. Also, the triangle of white on the very edge of the photo (top left quadrant) is very distracting and pulls my eye away from the subject.

I didn't even notice that. Thank you

That is an indication that you are using the wrong colorspace. Probably Adobe RGB or ProPhoto. For viewing on the internet and printing with most labs you need to produce your final product in sRGB

Thank you very much.
I checked the exif and it said RBG so I'm assuming it's the adobe RBG.

Yup. Therein lies your problem. It'll be a problem when you print also until you CONVERT it to sRGB. Must convert, not just change.
